The men's team cracked the top 10 with a #9 ranking, while the women open the season ranked #19. The CollegeSwimming.com rankings are based on each team's best dual meet lineup as judged and submitted by participating teams. Rankings are announced four times throughout the season - November (Pre-Invite), December (Post-Invite), February (Pre-Conference), and March (Post-Conference).]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[After their performances at BU's Terrier Invitational over the weekend senior Christa Narus and freshmen Chelsea Downing and Joey Sbordon all earned various weekly honors. Narus and Downing were the recipients for the women's team as they were named Performer of the Week and Rookie of the Week respectively while Sbordon also earned Rookie of the Week honors as well as UMass/Dinn Bros. Co-Athlete of the Week, a title he shares this week with All-Conference running back Tony Nelson. This marks the second time so far this season that Narus and Sbordon have been honored with their respective awards, including Sbordon's UMass honors.]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[UMass swimming and diving notched another win in New York on Saturday as they defeated Binghamton. While both diving teams dominated the board in both diving events, freshman Kayla Tegeler (Kingston, N.Y.) had her best performance of her career so far against Binghamton as she and junior Elizabeth Walsh (Marshfield, Mass.) paced the Minutewomen with two individual wins apiece as they rolled past Binghamton 195-105. Walsh also helped the medley relay team to a first-place finish. The Minutemen were led by senior captain Nate Bromage (Three Rivers, Mass.) as he too brought home two individual wins and swam the first leg for the first-place medley relay team, helping the men's team to a 162-138 victory.
